TVS Two-Wheelers Face Price Hikes in India: Implications for Nepal

TVS Motor Company has implemented price changes across its two-wheeler lineup in India, effective from 1 August 2026. This development is significant for Nepal, where most TVS models are imported from India through Jagadamba Motors and other dealers. The price adjustments in India could influence future pricing strategies in Nepal, though local prices will also depend on factors like forex rates, customs, and dealer margins.

What changed in India

  • Most TVS scooters and motorcycles have seen price increases ranging from Rs 550 to Rs 13,580 (Indian), depending on the model and variant.
  • The **TVS Ntorq 125 is an exception, with a price cut of up to Rs 1,650 (Indian)** across key variants such as Disc, Race XP, XT, Race Edition, and Super Squad.
  • The **TVS Jupiter 110 and Jupiter 125 have experienced hikes ranging from Rs 575 to Rs 2,410 (Indian)**, with prices now spanning Rs 73,975 to Rs 88,850 for the 110 and Rs 81,110 to Rs 89,935 for the 125.
  • The **TVS Raider 125 has relatively modest increases, mostly under Rs 1,500 (Indian)**.
  • The **TVS Apache RTR 200 4V 2-channel ABS variant sees a noticeable increment of over Rs 3,000 (Indian)**.
  • Electric models like the TVS iQube and Orbiter have faced steeper revisions. The iQube's 3.5kWh variant sees the largest increase at Rs 9,000 (Indian), while the Orbiter V1 records the steepest increase of Rs 11,000 (Indian).

Nepal angle: what buyers should expect

Most of these models — Ntorq 125, Jupiter, Raider 125, Apache RTR 200 4V — are already sold in Nepal in multiple trims. Dealers usually adjust Nepal prices after major ex-showroom changes in India, though not always immediately or by the same amount.

  • A hike of Rs 550–13,580 (Indian) could translate to roughly Rs 12,000–30,000 NPR change on some mid- and high-spec variants in Nepal once stock imported at older prices is sold out.
  • The Ntorq 125 India price cut (up to Rs 1,650 Indian) may give Nepali distributors room to offer more aggressive deals, smaller hikes, or promotional discounts on select Ntorq variants, rather than direct price cuts.
  • Higher Indian prices on Jupiter, Raider and Apache raise landed cost for Nepal. That puts pressure on local dealers to either raise tags or cut margins.
  • For models like iQube and Orbiter, which are not yet mainstream in Nepal, the higher India pricing suggests that future EV or premium TVS introductions here will likely sit at the upper end of their segments.

For now, TVS showrooms in Nepal have not announced official new price lists. Buyers considering Ntorq 125 may want to wait and see whether dealers respond with offers. Those eyeing Jupiter, Raider or Apache should be ready for possible upward revisions in the coming months as new stock arrives.
