About the Seres 3 EV

The Seres 3 is a compact electric SUV sold in Nepal as a five-seat, front-wheel-drive EV with a 99 kW PMSM motor, a 52.7 kWh battery and a claimed 405 km range on the NEDC cycle. In Nepal, it sits in the mid-to-upper mass-market EV bracket, with more features than many lower-priced Chinese EVs and a clearer city-plus-highway brief than smaller hatchback-based EVs.

Editorial overview compiled from official specs and Nepali/Indian auto sources · as of 04 Aug 2026.

Design & styling

Seres 3 has the proportions of a compact SUV rather than a raised hatchback, with dimensions of 4,385 mm length, 1,850 mm width, 1,650 mm height and a 2,655 mm wheelbase. Its 190 mm ground clearance is a key Nepal-friendly detail, as it gives the car more confidence on broken urban roads, speed breakers and rougher approach ramps than lower-slung EVs. On the Premium variant, the look is backed by 18-inch alloy wheels. The stance is tidy and conventional rather than flashy, which should suit buyers who want an EV that does not draw too much attention.

Performance & drivetrain

All current Nepal variants use the same setup: a front-mounted PMSM motor producing 99 kW and 300 Nm, driving the front wheels through an automatic EV drivetrain. The battery capacity is 52.7 kWh, and the Nepal distributor quotes a 405 km claimed range under NEDC. Other market coverage also cites a WLTP figure of around 320 km. Buyers should read the longer number as the brand claim and the shorter one as the more conservative standard-cycle estimate for real use. This is not a performance SUV in the sporty sense. The torque output should make it feel responsive in city traffic and adequate for highway overtakes. The top-spec car also offers multiple drive modes and DC fast-charging support.

Interior, features & practicality

The Premium variant is the one to judge the cabin by, because it carries the full feature set that most Nepal buyers will notice day to day. Reported equipment includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, automatic climate control, six speakers, auto-hold, hill-start and hill-descent assist, lane-departure warning, and six airbags. On this variant, the sunroof, camera, and the richer convenience suite are the main highlights. Practicality is helped by the five-seat layout and a claimed boot space of 525 litres that can expand to 800 litres with the rear seats folded. There is also a spare wheel. That remains useful in Nepal conditions where punctures and rough sections are part of ownership.

Ownership in Nepal — price positioning, running cost & who it suits

The current Nepal lineup and ex-showroom prices are Seres 3 Rs 49,99,000, Comfort Rs 49,99,000, Seres 3 Premium Rs 52,99,000, and Premium Rs 52,99,000. The model is positioned as a premium compact EV rather than an entry-level electric SUV. That pricing puts it against other imported EV SUVs and crossovers that promise more range and equipment than budget EVs, while still asking less than some larger or more premium-badged rivals in Nepal’s EV market. For a buyer, the value question is whether the feature list, 190 mm clearance and SUV stance matter more than badge prestige or maximum range. Running costs should be much lower than a petrol or diesel SUV because it charges from electricity and avoids fuel bills. It makes the most sense for urban and peri-urban users who can charge at home or at work and want a comfortable family EV with enough clearance for Nepali roads.

Verdict

As sold in Nepal, the Seres 3 Premium comes across as a sensible, well-equipped compact EV for buyers who want an upright SUV body, useful ground clearance and a long feature list without moving into much pricier territory. Its appeal is strongest for families and professionals who value easy electric running and everyday usability more than outright performance. The big unknown is whether the brand, range claim and price positioning are convincing enough against better-known EV alternatives in the same bracket.
