Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle division has rolled out a new global customer-facing identity called TATA.CARS, built around the promise “Nothing’s Too Far”. This master brand will sit above individual models like Punch, Safari, Nexon, Curvv and Harrier, unifying Tata’s hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and electric vehicles under one umbrella.

For Nepali buyers, the change is most relevant on familiar models already on sale. In the compact segment, the Tata Punch petrol is currently listed at Rs 29.99 lakh – Rs 45.49 lakh across seven variants, placing it close to Tata’s small EVs and sedans: the Tiago EV at Rs 28.99 lakh – Rs 29.99 lakh, Tigor EV at Rs 29.99 lakh – Rs 34 lakh, Tiago at Rs 24.99 lakh – Rs 36.99 lakh, Tigor at Rs 31.99 lakh – Rs 41.49 lakh, and Punch EV at Rs 33.99 lakh – Rs 37.99 lakh. The new TATA.CARS branding positions all of these as part of one coordinated passenger car family rather than scattered nameplates.

At the premium end, the diesel Tata Safari in Nepal is catalogued between Rs 92.49 lakh and Rs 131.99 lakh over eight variants, including trims such as Safari Smart (Rs 92.49 lakh), Safari Accomplished (Rs 95.50 lakh), Safari Adventure+ (Rs 99.90 lakh) and Safari Accomplished X+ #Dark (Rs 131.99 lakh). Around this price band, Tata already offers its more aspirational EVs: Curvv EV at Rs 53.99 lakh – Rs 65.99 lakh, Nexon EV at Rs 38.99 lakh – Rs 50.99 lakh, XPRES-T EV at Rs 38.49 lakh, and Punch EV at Rs 33.99 lakh – Rs 37.99 lakh. As TATA.CARS rolls out, these high-value SUVs and EVs are expected to share a more premium, unified retail experience.

In South Africa, Tata has introduced the Nexon as 'Osprey', named after the migratory bird known for its endurance and agility. Osprey is available with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine generating 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It features three trims: Smart+, Creative, and Creative+ PS. Notable features include a 7-inch Harman touchscreen, 6 airbags, and a 360-degree surround view system.

Under TATA.CARS, Tata is refreshing its visual and sensory language with a new Ambition Blue colour theme, a bespoke Parallel Display typeface and a sonic identity tied together by a design concept called Parallel Pathways, inspired by Tata's famous 'T' logo and the geometry of road lines. The idea is to give customers a consistent feel from the moment they discover a car online, through showroom visits and test drives, to servicing and future mobility services. Shailesh Chandra, Tata Motors' Managing Director and CEO, emphasizes that this is not just a new brand identity but a declaration of the company's vision and commitment to the future.

Tata has begun updating digital platforms so that individual models appear under the new structure, using formats like TATA.CARS.NEXON on social channels. This format is expected to extend to other nameplates over time, including the Punch, Safari and EV range already familiar in Nepal.

For Nepal, there is no indication yet of immediate price changes tied directly to TATA.CARS. Instead, the impact will be seen in branding and showroom experience: existing dealerships that sell models like the Punch, Safari, Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Curvv EV and Nexon EV are likely to adopt the TATA.CARS look and customer journey as Tata standardises its network across neighbouring markets. Corporate details remain unchanged, with the traditional Tata Motors ellipse badge continuing on the vehicles and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. staying as the legal entity.

In practical terms, Nepali buyers can expect the same model line-up and price bands for now, but with a clearer identity that groups all Tata passenger vehicles — petrol, diesel and electric — under the single TATA.CARS banner. The move signals that Tata intends to treat compact cars, premium SUVs and EVs as parts of one ecosystem, which should eventually translate into more consistent sales and after-sales experiences in Nepal as the new branding filters through.
