Original pre-launch report

Originally published 2026-07-24. The preview below is preserved as historical reporting; its expected prices, launch plans and overseas specifications are not the current Nepal offer.

MAW Vriddhi, the authorized distributor of Changan vehicles in Nepal, is preparing to add a new premium electric SUV to its portfolio. The company plans to launch the Deepal Nevo Q05 for Nepali buyers, expanding the choice of long‑range electric SUVs in the country.

International model, local branding

In China, the SUV is sold under Changan’s premium Nevo brand, while Nepal will receive it as the Deepal Nevo Q05, according to the distributor’s announcement. The same vehicle is related to the Deepal E07 in Europe, where it is marketed under a different badge. That suggests the model has been developed with multiple global markets in mind.

Design Excellence and Global Recognition

The Nevo Q05 has recently been awarded the prestigious Gold A' Design Award for its modern design, innovation, and user-centric concept. This international recognition highlights the SUV's exceptional creativity, technical excellence, and impactful design. The award is given to products that challenge conventional thinking and create significant value through design and technology.

Battery options and range

The Nevo Q05 will come with two battery packs, offering a claimed CLTC driving range of around 405 km and 506 km, depending on the variant, according to the announcement. The SUV uses CATL battery cells, a supplier widely used by major Chinese EV brands, and supports 3C fast charging, which allows higher charging power and shorter charging times on compatible DC chargers.

For Nepali buyers, this puts the Nevo Q05 among the higher‑range EVs currently available. It is positioned as suitable for inter‑city as well as daily urban use, provided public fast‑charging infrastructure continues to improve.

Size and interior

Although it is placed in the compact SUV class, the Q05 has a 2,735 mm wheelbase, which is longer than many small SUVs and helps create a more spacious cabin. The vehicle is expected to offer:

  • Digital cockpit with a large central screen
  • Connected car features and smartphone integration
  • Surround‑view camera system for easier parking
  • A cabin focused on comfort for family use

These features target buyers moving from conventional SUVs to their first EV, who still want space and convenience.

Exterior design and awards

The exterior of the Nevo Q05 was designed by Klaus Zyciora, former head of design at BMW, according to the announcement. The SUV has clean lines, distinctive lighting signatures, and contemporary SUV proportions. That helps it stand out among current EV offerings. The model has also received the Gold A' Design Award, an international design recognition. Its styling is presented as one of its main strengths.

Market positioning in Nepal

In China, the Nevo Q05 has become one of the stronger performers in its segment, with more than 71,600 units reportedly sold in the first half of 2026, according to the announcement. This sales record indicates that the model has already been tested in a competitive market before coming to Nepal.

MAW Vriddhi has not yet publicly confirmed pricing or an exact launch date for Nepal. Based on its premium positioning and long‑range battery options, buyers can expect it to compete with mid‑ to high‑end electric SUVs instead of entry‑level EVs. Final price in Nepal (in Rs lakh) and variant details will only be clear once the official announcement is made.

For Nepali customers considering an electric SUV, the Deepal Nevo Q05 emerges as a new option combining long range, fast charging, spacious interior, and award‑winning design in one package.
