Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, has expanded its lineup with the introduction of two new variants of the BYD Atto 2. The new Essential variant is priced at Rs 45.99 lakh, while the newly launched Superior variant, equipped with a sunroof, is available at Rs 51.99 lakh. The existing Premium variant continues at Rs 48.99 lakh.
The Atto 2 is positioned as a compact electric SUV, offering a mid-point option for buyers looking for a compact EV crossover without moving up to the larger Atto 3. In BYD’s Nepal lineup, the Atto 2 sits above the BYD Dolphin, priced between Rs 41.15 lakh–Rs 48.99 lakh, and below the BYD Atto 3, which ranges from Rs 52.99 lakh–Rs 67.80 lakh.

Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 with Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, the Atto 2 measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase and 200 mm ground clearance. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and offers luggage space of 380 litres to 1,320 litres, depending on the rear-seat configuration.
The Atto 2 is powered by a 100 kW front-wheel-drive motor and features a 51.13 kWh BYD Blade Battery, offering a claimed WLTP range of 345 km. Inside, the Atto 2 boasts a 12.8-inch rotating touch screen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional features include a flat-bottom steering wheel, wireless charging pad, powered and ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, an eight-speaker audio system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The SUV also includes an electric tailgate and voice assistance. Safety features are comprehensive, with six airbags, ABS, electronic parking brake, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a 360-degree camera. It also comes with BYD's digital key and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems.

The new variants were showcased at the NADA Auto Show 2026 in Kathmandu, held at Bhrikutimandap from August 25 to 30, marking a significant expansion of BYD's offerings in the Nepalese market. This introduction provides Nepali buyers with a broader range of options in the compact SUV segment, catering to different preferences and budgets.
