BAIC has put the BJ30e on sale in Nepal at Rs 1.19 crore to Rs 1.19.96 crore, depending on the variant. That makes it one of the more expensive BAIC models here, sitting above the BJ60e at Rs 44.80 lakh, BJ40e at Rs 42 lakh, BJ40 Plus at Rs 59.78 lakh to Rs 62.38 lakh, and BJ40 Taklimakan Rally Champion at Rs 63.98 lakh.
The SUV now faces the GWM Tank 300, which is sold in Nepal by VG Impex. The Tank 300 sits well above the BJ30e on price.

Power and hardware
Both SUVs use a petrol-electric setup and come with 4WD. Their focus is different.
- GWM Tank 300: 2.0-liter turbo petrol hybrid, 351 PS, 648 Nm, nine-speed hybrid transmission, 224 mm ground clearance, 2,313 kg kerb weight, 75-liter fuel tank.
- BAIC BJ30e: 1.5-liter petrol engine with electric motors at the front and rear, 405 PS, 685 Nm combined output, 215 mm ground clearance, 1,770 kg kerb weight, 51-liter fuel tank.
On paper, the BJ30e has the stronger total output and torque figure. The Tank 300 counters with more ground clearance, a heavier build and a bigger fuel tank, which suits rougher routes and longer drives away from pumps.

Cabin and equipment

Size is close, but the BJ30e has the longer wheelbase at 2,820 mm. The Tank 300 measures 4,760 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,903 mm tall, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. The BJ30e is 4,730 mm long, 1,910 mm wide and 1,790 mm tall.
BAIC has given the BJ30e a more modern cabin. It gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a Snapdragon 8155 chipset, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, an air purifier and ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and emergency braking.
The Tank 300 stays more focused on toughness. It comes with seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold assist and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
For Nepali buyers, the choice is clear. The Tank 300 makes sense for someone who wants a more rugged SUV with higher clearance and a bigger tank. The BJ30e offers more power, more tech and a much lower price. It is the smarter buy for most buyers looking at value.
