Pathao is moving its rider and captain payment system from percentage-based commissions to fixed subscriptions in Nepal. The announcement came during the company’s eighth anniversary.
Under the new system, users can choose a 24-hour, seven-day or 30-day package through the Pathao Drive app. Captains will not pay a percentage of each ride’s earnings as commission.
- Car: Rs 149 for 24 hours, Rs 699 for seven days and Rs 2,299 for 30 days
- Bike: Rs 49 for 24 hours, Rs 299 for seven days and Rs 9,998 for 30 days
The 5% VAT and 1% TDS charged on ride fares will continue. Captains must pay these taxes separately from the subscription fee.

Pathao has introduced the offer under the slogan “Fair Rate, Value for Effort.” The company has also supported the demand for a Rs 25 per kilometre ride rate and called for the government to apply uniform fares across ride-sharing platforms.
For captains with steady ride demand, the fixed-fee model could make daily earnings easier to calculate. The benefit will depend on how many rides each captain completes during the selected subscription period.
