NADA has asked the Department of Customs to speed up relief and other support for automobile importers affected by the Rasuwa and Timure flood.
NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti led a delegation that met Customs Department Director General Yam Lal Bhusal. The flood hit the area on 2025-07-08, damaging vehicles brought from China for the Dashain season.
Many vehicles were lost.
NADA Secretary General Milan Babu Malla said more than 500 vehicles remain stuck because the China-side border customs point has not reopened. The stranded vehicles include 11-seat electric microbuses.
NADA asked the government to quickly apply relief and concession measures for affected importers. Buyers may face delays in vehicle availability until the border route and customs operations return to normal.
Bhusal said the Finance Ministry, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Home Ministry are working on the support model for flood-hit businesses.
NADA Vice Presidents Abhik Jyoti and Bikram Singhania, along with Secretary Meghraj Paudel, also attended the meeting.
The immediate priority is to restore the trade route and give clear relief terms to affected importers.
