Montra Electric has launched the Super Auto in Nepal through Hipko Trading, the official distributor under Diwakar Golchha Organisation. The premium passenger electric three-wheeler was unveiled in Kathmandu and is now on sale.
The Super Auto uses a 9 kWh battery and a PMSM motor that makes 60 Nm of torque, which is positioned as among the best in its segment. It offers a 150 km range on a full charge, a 55 kmph top speed, and can be charged in about 4.5 hours.
According to the company, the model can handle inclines of up to 32 degrees. It also includes hill-hold assist for safety. Multiple drive modes, designed to provide smooth power delivery and reduce jerks, make it easier to adapt to different loads and road conditions. Dual-tone ergonomic seating, along with increased headroom and legroom, enhances passenger comfort, making it suitable even for longer journeys.
Hipko Trading has set the Nepal price at Rs 8.64 lakh. The company also plans to expand its dealer and service network across the country. The tax and customs incentives provided by the government for electric vehicles can offer economic benefits for drivers and passengers switching from petrol-powered three-wheelers.
Speaking at the launch event, Hipko Trading Director Himanshu Golchha emphasized that Nepal's roads are crucial for the country's economic development, and the Super Auto's arrival is a step towards reducing dependence on imported fuel and cutting pollution. Continued promotion of electric mobility, supported by strategic partnerships, is expected to advance Nepal's transport sector.
TI Clean Mobility Chairman Arun Murugappan highlighted that Montra Electric's entry into Nepal reflects the company's commitment to engineering excellence tailored to local needs. Company Managing Director Jalaj Gupta noted Montra Electric's establishment as a leading player in India's electric commercial vehicle sector.
