Hyundai has introduced a buyback scheme for the Creta Electric in India, offering customers up to 60% buyback value after 3 years or 45,000 km, according to the company announcement. This initiative is designed to alleviate one of the biggest concerns among EV buyers: the resale value of their vehicles.

Hyundai had already offered another ownership option for the model in India through its Battery-as-a-Service plan. Under that scheme, the Creta Electric could be bought at a lower starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh in India, with battery charges calculated separately at Rs 3.9 per km for the 42 kWh version.
Creta Electric specs relevant to buyers
The Creta Electric is available with two battery options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The model can deliver a range of up to 420 km for the 42 kWh unit and 510 km for the 51.4 kWh battery pack. The 42 kWh version offers about 135 hp, while the long-range variant provides 171 hp. The long-range variant is also reported to do 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Charging times are efficient, with a 7.4 kW AC charger taking 6 hours for the 42 kWh and 7.15 hours for the 51.4 kWh battery packs, while DC fast charging from 10-80% takes just 39 minutes.
Why this matters for Nepal
For Nepali EV buyers, this is significant because resale value remains a major question when choosing an electric SUV. If Hyundai or its local distributor extends a similar offer to Nepal in the future, it could make the Creta Electric easier to justify for buyers who are worried about long-term ownership costs.
At this stage, the buyback scheme is announced for India, and there is no Nepal-specific confirmation yet. So Nepali buyers should treat it as a useful regional development rather than a confirmed local offer.
