Chery has officially launched the iCaur V27 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) in China. This SUV is the largest model in the iCaur lineup and the brand's first to use a range-extender powertrain.
In the Nepali market, the iCaur brand is represented by the iCaur V23, which is currently available for Rs 53.99 lakh. The newly launched V27 has not been announced for Nepal, and no official pricing or import timeline exists for the country.

Powertrain and Range
The V27 features a 51.2 kWh LFP battery that provides a claimed 300 km of electric-only range on the CLTC cycle. A 1.5T petrol engine acts as a generator to charge the battery or power the motors, removing the need for frequent charging on long trips. The vehicle uses dual electric motors to produce a combined output of 335 kW, or approximately 449 hp.
Market Context

This SUV is designed with a boxy, off-road-inspired aesthetic. While it has not been confirmed for local sale, the EREV technology is often discussed as a potential solution for regions with sparse charging infrastructure and challenging terrain. Any future arrival in Nepal would be subject to current import tax structures, which significantly impact the final price of vehicles based on their customs value.

Buyers interested in rugged-looking electric SUVs currently have other options in the market. The Tata Sierra EV, for example, is expected to feature a 75 kWh battery and a claimed range of 665 km. Pre-bookings for the Sierra EV are open, with deliveries anticipated around Dashain.
