Ather Energy has expanded its presence in Nepal by introducing the Rizta S, a more affordable variant of its electric scooter lineup, through Vaidya’s Energy at the ongoing NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026. Priced at Rs 2,94,900, the Rizta S makes the Rizta series more accessible to a wider audience. This move comes after the launch of the Rizta Z LR, priced at Rs 3.83 lakh, which was introduced as the top variant in the series.
The Rizta S is positioned below the Rizta Z LR and is stripped of many features to bring the price down by nearly Rs. 90,000. This strategic pricing aims to capture a broader market segment, especially those looking for a family-oriented electric scooter.
The Rizta series marks a departure from the sharper design language of the 450 series, embracing a softer, more approachable look with rounded and oval elements. This design shift is credited to Ather’s design team, who have balanced a familiar form with a contemporary persona. However, some users have expressed concerns about the headlight setup, particularly regarding reduced visibility in cornered areas.
The Rizta Z LR, on the other hand, continues to offer a 2.7 kWh battery pack with IPX7 water and dust resistance, claiming a range of up to 123 km on a full charge. It features a 4.3 kW motor with an IP66 rating, achieving a top speed of 80 km/h and accelerating from 0-40 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

Feature highlights of the Rizta Z LR include a touchscreen TFT display, Ather app connectivity, navigation, live location sharing, WhatsApp previews, Magic Twist, theft and tow notifications, Find My Scooter, full-LED lighting, riding modes, parking assist, auto hold, regenerative braking, OTA updates, ABS, disc brakes, alloy wheels, telescopic front suspension, monoshock rear suspension, and voice interaction.
The introduction of the Rizta S variant is a strategic move by Ather to address the premium positioning of the Rizta Z and to make the series more appealing to a mass-market audience in Nepal. This expansion reflects Ather's commitment to catering to diverse consumer needs and preferences in the electric scooter market.
