Ayam Intercontinental, part of the Himalayan Organisation, is gearing up to introduce Dongfeng large electric buses to Nepal. These buses will make their official debut at the NAIMA Auto Expo in Kathmandu, starting from Bhadr 26 (August 11) at Bhrikutimandap.
The initial showcase will feature two 7.2-meter electric bus models with seating capacities ranging from 26 to 30 passengers. These buses are powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), delivering up to 160 kW of peak power and a maximum torque of 1,500 Nm. They are equipped with 100.46 kWh and 140 kWh battery packs, offering claimed CLTC ranges of approximately 250 km and 350 km on a full charge.
In response to the growing demand for electric public transport and the government's increasing focus on large electric vehicles, Ayam Intercontinental plans to expand its lineup with 9-meter and 12-meter buses, which will have seating capacities of 38 seats and 52 seats, respectively.
The company has announced that the buses will be positioned at a competitive price, significantly lower than other electric buses currently available in Nepal. Customers who book at the expo will benefit from special discounts.
Ayam Intercontinental will leverage its nationwide branch and dealer network to provide comprehensive after-sales service and spare parts support, ensuring a seamless ownership experience for customers.
