Honda is back at the top of India’s scooter market. In August 2026, it sold 2,85,527 scooters and took a 33% market share.
TVS followed with 2,56,442 units and a 30% share. Its rise was helped by electric scooters such as iQube and Orbiter, which contributed 20% of its total scooter sales.

Scooter dispatches through dealerships reached 8,55,175 units in August. That was 24% higher than a year earlier and the second time monthly scooter sales have crossed the 8 lakh mark.

For January-August 2026, scooter sales climbed 31% to 60.7 lakh units. Honda’s lead is back, but TVS is now close enough to keep pressure on the segment.
