The two-wheeler market in Kathmandu is experiencing a significant surge in activity as the Dashain festival begins. Showrooms across the city are crowded with buyers collecting pre-booked vehicles and making new purchases.
Activity peaked on Sunday, October 11, which marked Ghatasthapana. Major auto hubs in Naxal and Teku saw heavy footfall from early morning. Brands including Royal Enfield, Triumph, Yamaha, TVS, Hero, and Honda reported high customer turnout. Some locations faced long queues, with staff working through the day to complete deliveries.
Dealers note that the Dashain and Tihar period is the busiest time for the industry. Nearly 25 percent of annual sales occur during these festivals. Alongside the vehicle rush, local helmet shops have also reported a rise in customer visits.

This festive period remains the most significant window for two-wheeler sales in the country.
